When I’m out at gigs, I’m always eyeing up what the musicians, and their fans, are wearing. For me, the fashion is almost as important as the music. I’ve decided to start a monthly fashion blog to document what I’m seeing on stage, on the dance floor, and in vintage shops. This month I’m swooning over feather accessories. I’ve come across so many gorgeous pieces that take the look beyond the tacky looking feather hair extensions the salons are churning out these days and towards Buffy St Marie inspired wearable art. Here’s a collection of looks that have caught my eye, and where you can get them:
This sensational piece was spotted in Pagan Poetry Shop‘s online store on Etsy.com. This stunningly original design made of gold leather and brass can be worn as a choker or headband. (photo by Vivienne Mok)
I love the single earring look, and this one is especially beautiful with peacock feather and pearls. Another great offering by Pagan Poetry Shop. (photo by Pauline Darley)
This is an amazing headband designed by The Desert Child. It would make great look on stage or at a festival.
Brass barrette with french clip for a classy effect from Etsy shop My Elegant Things.
I’d love to see someone go-go dancing wearing this unique turquoise and feather necklace, created by Kristin Bartlett. Let me see you shake your neck feathers!
Njuu‘s feather ear cuffs are available in a wide range of colours. I particularly like the firey red seen here.
Seen some great feather accessories lately? Post them here!
